Amongst the top things to do in Phnom Penh is a visit to the Royal Palace with its magnificent golden, multi-tiered roof and Wat Phnom, a Buddhist temple in the center of town which has been a religious site for many centuries. Another important if sad stop for anyone hoping to understand modern Cambodia is the Tuol Sleng Museum (Museum of Genocide), the main torture and interrogation center during the Khmer Rouge years (1975-1978).

After taking in many of the best sights Cambodia’s capital has to offer, we will transfer to our headquarters in the city of Kampot, a three hour drive away from Phnom Penh. In the late afternoon we will check our riding gear and thoroughly test our bikes.

A well-deserved cold beer by the peaceful Kampot River is waiting for us in the evening.
