ITINERARY

DAY 1: PHNOM PENH TO KIRIROM NATIONAL PARK

We leave Phnom Penh and the hectic inner city traffic behind and head west towards the National Park of Kirirom. After riding through the sweltering, sun torched plains around Phnom Penh, the Kirirom National Park with its evergreen pine tree forest will be quite a relief because at an altitude of 800 m it has a much cooler climate than the surrounding low lands. The National Park is a fantastic place to do some trail bike riding on small single trails all around the top.

Distance: ca. 150 km

Terrain: Sand, Gravel Roads, Single Trails, Tarmac

Accommodation: Pine Tree Resort, Shower, Mosquito Net, Wifi

DAY 2: KIRIROM NATIONAL PARK TO PIC NIC HILL RESORT

Early in the morning and after a good breakfast we leave the hilltop and ride on single trails through the forest to reach our lunch spot. A river with rapids and hundreds of small ponds make this a real 'beauty spot'. Even a massage is available in this awesome place! Well rested we continue our journey. There is still a good distance to cover before we reach the Pic Nic Hill Resort. A great view from a hilltop nearby and a beautiful sunset will be our reward.

Distance: ca. 120 km

Terrain: Sand, Single Trails, Technical Terrain, Gravel Roads

Accommodation: Pic Nic Hill Resort, Shower, Mosquito Net, Wifi

DAY 3: PIC NIC HILL RESORT TO CHI PHAT

A day full of sandy single trails, technical terrain and plenty of river crossings is waiting for us. Enduro freaks will be pleased and nature lovers happy as we ride through the lush greenery of the southern Cardamom Mountains. Our destination for today, Chi Phat, is a small village situated at the banks of the 'Phipot' river. It serves as a base for ECO tourism and hikes into the adjacent National Park. A bath in the nearby waterfall will help us unwind after a tough day on our dirt bikes and hopefully bring back some much needed energy for the next days.

Distance: ca. 120 km

Terrain: Sand, Single Trails, Technical Terrain, River Crossings

Accommodation: Homestay, Shower, Mosquito Net

DAY 4: CHI PHAT TO KAMPOT

After a few days of some heavy enduro riding way out in the boonies, we turn south and head back to civilization.

Today's destination is the small town of Kampot, which is located near the coast at the foothills of the jungle clad elevations of the Elephant Mountains. Soak in the tranquil atmosphere of Kampot's riverside promenade with its surprisingly varied array of bars, cafés and restaurants offering asian and international specialties well seasoned with the world famous Kampot-Pepper wich is cultivated in farms nearby.

Distance: ca. 170 km

Terrain: Gravel Roads, some Sandy Trails, Tarmac

Accommodation: Guesthouse, AC, TV, Shower, Wifi

DAY 5: KAMPOT

We dedicate day 5 of our off-road adventure to explore some of the natural beauty, Kampot province is famous for. We follow a long, perfectly sealed road that is winding its way up the heavily forested slopes of the Elephant Mountains until we reach the plateau of 'Phnom Bokor'. At an altitude of more than 1000 m above sea level the air is fresh and the view from the edge of the cliff marvelous. Little wonder that back in the day, the french decided to built a little town up here, complete with church and casino.

Distance: ca. 80 km

Terrain: Gravel Roads, Tarmac

Accommodation: Guesthouse, AC, TV, Shower, Wifi

DAY 6: KAMPOT TO KEP

Growing pepper is an age old tradition in what is nowadays the provinces of Kampot and Kep. A unique combination of soil and climate allow for a type of pepper, foodies and chefs across the globe consider to be the worlds finest. We will have a taste at the Seafood market in Kep. Our favorite is fried shrimp in fresh green pepper. Bon Appetit!

Distance: ca. 80 km

Terrain: some Trails, Gravel Roads, Tarmac

Accommodation: Kep Lodge, AC, TV, Shower, Swimming Pool, Wifi

DAY 7: KEP TO PHNOM PENH

The final leg of our journey will take us to the ancient hilltop temple of “Phnom Chi Sour”, wich was build during the reign of the Khmer emperor Suryavarman I in the 11th century and was dedicated to the lord Vishnu. We will ride up there on a technically demanding, rocky single trail to enjoy a great view over the pancake like, flat plains that are so typical for Cambodia.

Distance: ca. 170 km

Terrain: some Trails, Gravel Roads, Tarmac

Accommodation: Hotel, AC, TV, Shower, Swimming Pool Wifi
