ITINERARY

DAY 1: SIEM REAP TO TBEANG MEANCHEY  (PREAH VIHEAR CITY)

We are leaving Siem Reap early in the morning and go straight out into the countryside to one of the last hidden temples of Cambodia - the “Preah Khan” temple. Riding the Route 66 also known as 'Angkorian Highway' can be a challenge, as depending on the season the trail is either sandy or muddy and rutted from the ox carts that bring goods to the villages far out in the countryside. We will spend the night in an awesome family guesthouse and have a great BBQ Khmer style!

Distance: ca. 160 km

Terrain: Sand, Single Trails, Technical Terrain, Gravel Roads, Tarmac.

Accommodation: Family Guesthouse, Shower, TV, Wifi

DAY 2: TBEANG MEANCHEY TO PREAH ANGKOL

The Mekong River is one of the world’s largest river systems, flowing 4,909 km through 6 countries. Today one of the most amazing sights Cambodia has to offer is waiting for us as we will visit the great Mekong waterfalls, located at the Cambodia-Laos border. Later on that day we will embark on a little boat cruise and if we get lucky we may spot some of the last remaining individuals of a species of river dolphins, called Irrawaddy dolphin, that are living in that section of the Mekong. We will spend the night in a 'homestay' wich is a unique opportunity to witness everyday life in a typical Cambodian village, a great experience for all travelers.

Distance: ca. 120 km

Terrain: Some Single Trails, Gravel Roads and Tarmac

Accommodation: Homestay, Basic Comfort, Shower, Cold Beer!

DAY 3: PREAH ANGKOL TO BAN LUNG

After crossing the Mekong early in the morning we will head out to the remote Northeast of Cambodia wich is home to a variety of ethnic groups collectively called the “Khmer Leu" (Tombouen, Jarei and many others). With a bit of luck we may be able to get a glimpse of everyday life in one of the tribal villages. A multitude of river crossings is part of today's adventure. Our final splash for today will be in “Boeung Yak Loam” a crater lake near Banlung where we will take a refreshing swim and unwind after a tough day in the wild, a well deserved cold beer in hand.

Distance: ca. 150 km

Terrain: Sandy Single Trails, River Crossings, Gravel Roads, Tarmac.

Accommodation: Tree Top Lodge, Hot Shower, Fan, Mosquito Net, WiFi

DAY 4: BAN LUNG TO SEN MONOROM

Our destination today is Sen Monorom, a small town in the province of Mondulkiri. The relatively high elevation of this part of Cambodia allows for a much cooler climate and it is a pleasure to ride on single trails through the rolling grass hills, Mondulkriri is famous for. With a bit of luck we might see some of the minority people riding their elephants.

Distance: ca. 180 km

Terrain: Sandy Single Trails, Gravel Roads, Tarmac.

Accommodation: Nature Lodge, Hot Shower, Mosquito Net, WiFi

DAY 5: SEN MONOROM

We're going to visit Cambodia's highest waterfall, called “BUSRA”. If your up for some action feel free to hook into the 'Mayura' zip line and fly over the waterfall like a gibbon! If you're feeling unadventurous today, that's okay too. Just relax in the beautiful landscape setting of Nature Lodge and enjoy a lazy day. We still have a few good days of intense off-road riding ahead of us.

Distance: ca. 100 km

Terrain: Single Trails, Gravel Roads, Tarmac.

Accommodation: Nature Lodge, Hot Shower, Mosquito Net, WiFi

DAY 6: SEN MONOROM TO SNOUL

We are leaving the 800 m high elevations of Mondulkiri behind and head for the 'King’s Road'. The King's Road is one of our 'must do' trails in Cambodia and will lead us through lush greenery and dense forest. We will be presented with many challenges and our dirt bike driving skills will be put to the test.

Distance: ca. 120 km

Terrain: Single Trails, Rocks, Technical Terrain, River Crossings.

Accommodation: Hotel, Hot Shower, AC, TV, WiFi

DAY 7: SNOUL TO KOMPONG CHAM

Today’s ride will lead us past the endless rubber plantations of Kampong Cham province. We will see how the locals tap the trees and go where the pepper grows. Our physical strength will be put to the test when we climb up an old watch tower, build by the French in colonial times. Behold Cambodia’s longest bamboo bridge! We will ride our dirt bike across the Mekong on this incredible wooden structure to visit the Island of ‘Koh Paen’ (only during dry season).

Distance: ca. 150 km

Terrain: Some Trails, Gravel Roads, Tarmac.

Accommodation: Hotel, Hot Shower, AC, TV, WiFi

DAY 8: KOMPONG CHAM TO PHNOM PENH

The life along the Mekong! See the traditional wooden houses on stilts which are a good protection in the rainy season when the Mekong rises. Have a look and see how simple the locals live, all together under one roof! We will be back in the civilization soon!

Distance: c. 120 km

Terrain: Some Trails, Gravel Roads, Tarmac.

Accommodation: Hotel, Hot Shower, AC, TV, WiFi
